Here's the first glimpse of the Tata Curvv EV's cabin
In anticipation of the Tata Curvv EV's August 7, 2024 introduction, Tata Motors has produced yet another teaser. For the first time, an obvious peek of the production-ready interior is shown. The Curvv EV is based on the Nexon EV and that's very evident on the inside as we can see quite a few similarities.
Tata Curvv EV: Interior
The dashboard has the same layout as the Nexon, with the elephant in the room being the large floating touchscreen that is probably the same 12.3-inch one seen on the top-of-the-line Nexon EV. Key interior elements include a fully digital instrument cluster and a four-spoke steering wheel that is shared with the Harrier and Safari siblings. The touch-sensitive temperature control buttons are located below the air vents in the centre.
In addition, the dashboard trim seems to feature a textured pattern in silver, which is different from the Nexon's black finish. A strip of multi-colour ambient lighting runs across the middle of the dashboard. The centre console isn't visible but we expect it to feature the same rotary drive selector, gear lever, and wireless charging pad that we see on the Nexon EV.
Tata Curvv EV: Features
The features list will include a 9-speaker JBL sound system, powered and ventilated front seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree camera, iRA 2.0 connected car tech, electronic parking brake with auto hold, four-disc brakes, parking sensors at both ends, six airbags, Level 2 autonomy with driver drowsiness detection. Tata could also offer electronic stability control, brake assist, telematics, ISOFIX child anchor points, automatic headlamps, and wipers, vehicle-to-load (V2L), vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), LED headlights and taillights with welcome and goodbye animations, puddle lamps, blind spot monitor, 45W USB Type-C socket, and drive modes, among others.
Tata Curvv EV: Battery & Range
Just like the other EV offerings from Tata, the Curvv EV will also be offered in Standard and Long Range models. The Standard battery is expected to be the same 40.5kWh battery pack that is found in the Long Range Nexon EV. The Nexon EV LR has an ARAI range of 465 kilometres on a full charge so we expect the Curvv EV to have a similar driving range to that.
The Long Range Curvv on the other hand though will have a 55kWh battery pack and an expected driving range of approximately 600 kilometres on a full charge. Both models will also have a single electric motor powering the front wheels and support DC fast charging. More details regarding the specifications of the Curvv EV will disclosed on August 7.
