Hero MotoCorp is gearing up to unveil a new scooter at the EICMA 2023, with the brand having recently teased its forthcoming offering via its social media handles. Notably, Hero had previously secured a patent for a maxi scooter, hinting its interest in entering to a new segment, potentially aiming to attract younger buyers and creating a new fanbase.

The unveiling of this new scooter corresponds with Hero's recent inauguration of a premium showroom, aptly named Hero Premia. This new dealership will feature the sale of Hero's recently launched Karizma XMR and Xpulse 200 4V models, alongside Harley-Davidson's X440 and the Vida V1 electric scooter. The company also plans to introduce additional Premia showrooms in the coming months to provide premium sales and service experience.

Hero new maxi scooter: Highlights

The recently released teaser suggest that Hero's upcoming scooter will adopt a proper maxi-scooter design language, characterised by an angular front fascia, split headlamps, a tall windscreen, a generously sized single-piece seat, and a maxi-scooter-style floorboard, reminiscent of the Yamaha Aerox 155. Further, the scooter is likely to come equipped with various features, such as all-LED lighting, telescopic front forks, dual rear shock absorbers, keyless ignition, a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, disc brakes on both wheels, single-channel ABS, and a USB charging port.

Hero new maxi scooter: Engine

While specific details about the scooter's engine and power outputs remain undisclosed, it is expected that the Hero maxi scooter will house an engine with a capacity exceeding 150cc. This is likely to mark Hero's entry into a market segment, where it will compete against rivals like the Yamaha Aerox 155 and Aprilia SXR 160 in India.

Hero new maxi scooter: Launch and Pricing

As for its launch date, the new Hero maxi scooter is expected to go on sale in India either by the end of this year or in early 2024. It is likely that this model will be made available through Hero's recently established Hero Premia showrooms. The price range for this maxi scooter is expected to be between Rs 1.20 lakh and Rs 1.40 lakh.
