Finally! After one long teaser campaign, numerous sketches and concept animations, Honda has finally pulled the cover off the new CB750 Hornet, at the Intermot 2022 in Cologne.

In case you weren't aware, the only feature confirmed with this bike was the new 755cc parallel-twin engine that powers it. Compared to the sketches of the CB750 Hornet that were circulating online, the bike looks a bit diluted in the photos.

It's not as aggressively styled as the concept photos would have suggested, but it is a sharp looking motorcycle none-the-less with its sloped LED headlight, the tank extensions that add some burliness and slim tail section. It looks everything the part of a naked streetbike that you can use every day and not only as some weekend special.

The new parallel-twin produces a claimed 92PS of max power at 9,500rpm and 75Nm of peak torque at 7,250rpm. The new motor uses a 270-degree crank for an uneven firing interval that is said to give the bike a healthy mid-range grunt.

The engine sits within the new steel diamond frame with Showa suspension at each end. Up front there's a 41mm SFF-BP upside-down fork, while the rear employs an adjustable monoshock system. Stopping power comes in the form of radial-mounted Nissin four-piston calipers at the front biting down on 296mm rotors, while a single-piston caliper clamps down on 240mm disc at the back.

Apart from the lack of lean-sensitive ride equipment, Honda hasn't held back with the list of electronic aids either, with the CB750 Hornet getting three levels of engine power, engine brake and switchable torque control with integrated wheelie control available. The three (Sport, Standard, Rain) plus one (user) riding modes offer different combinations of each parameter. There's even an assist/slipper clutch that offers light lever feel and manages rear wheel hop on downshifts. The 5-inch full-colour TFT screen comes with Bluetooth connectivity features and the Honda Smartphone Voice Control system as well.

Say what? Not too impressed with the 2023 CB750 Hornet? Well there's another Honda that's bound to be unveiled soon, possibly at the EICMA 2022 â€" the Honda Transalp. That full-fledged ADV bike will share many of parts like the chassis and engine with the new CB750 Hornet. So be sure to watch this space for updates.
