Hotter Yamaha YZF-R3 and MT-03 India launch soon: What to expect?

Since the announcement of the arrival of the Yamaha YZF-R3, MT-03, YZF-R7, MT-07, and MT-09, everyone has been on the edge of their seat to find out the launch date and prices of these motorcycles. Interestingly, Yamaha Motor India is likely to launch the 2023 YZF-R3 and MT-03 in India by the end of this year. The motorcycles could arrive around the major Indian festive season to attract as many customers as possible. In fact, select Yamaha showrooms have already begun bookings for the R3 and MT-03 across the country. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming hotter Yamaha motorcycles.

Yamaha 2023 YZF-R3 and MT-03: Engine

Powering the 2023 YZF-R3 and MT-03 is a 320cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that is producing 42PS at 10,750rpm and 29.5Nm of torque at 9,000rpm (29.6Nm of torque in the MT-03). It is paired with a six-speed gearbox. The YZF-R3 returns a claimed mileage of 25.4kmpl, as per World Motorcycle Test Cycle (WMTC).

The 2023 YZF-R3 and MT-03 feature KYB upside-down front forks, an adjustable rear mono-shock, a 298mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc setup, a slipper clutch, dual-channel ABS a fully digital LCD console, and all-LED lights.

Yamaha 2023 YZF-R3 and MT-03: Highlights

Yamaha recently updated the YZF-R3 for the model year 2023, offering a new purple paint job and LED indicators. Thus, the supersport gets a total of three new colours: Deep Purplish Blue Metallic, Black Metallic, and Dark Blueish Purple Metallic. Whereas, the MT-03 is also available in three shades. All these colours are likely to be offered in India.

Yamaha 2023 YZF-R3 and MT-03: Prices and Rivals

Since Yamaha is expected to bring the 2023 YZF-R3 and MT-03 to the country as CBU, the motorcycles could come with a sticker price of around Rs 4 lakh. Upon launch, the 2023 YZF-R3 will compete against the KTM RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 300, Kawasaki Ninja 400, while the MT-03 will take on the likes of the KTM 390 Duke and Triumph Speed 400.
