Hyundai Alcazar facelift spotted under covers ahead of 2024 debut

Hyundai gave the Creta a massive facelift not that long ago and has now turned its focus towards the Creta's older sibling, the Hyundai Alcazar. The Alcazar is the only 3-row offering from Hyundai Motor India and has been due for a facelift for a while now. The car has now been spotted ahead of its debut in the coming months and updates bring substantial design changes in line with Hyundai's other models.

Hyundai Alcazar facelift: Design

According to the most recent spy images, the Alcazar facelift will include a reworked front end similar to the Creta. The grille is broader, with a slightly different design than its five-seat counterpart. These inverted L-shaped LED DRL components will most likely be accompanied by a narrow LED light bar in the centre that connects them. There seems to be a new set of alloy wheels as well.

Hyundai Alcazar facelift: Interior and Features

The interior of the updated Alcazar will feature the 2024 Creta's dash that includes the twin 10.25-inch driver display and infotainment screen. The current Alcazar already comes equipped with six airbags, ESP, VSM, HAC, and ISOFIX child seat anchors as standard across all variants. With the Alcazar facelift, Hyundai may make additional safety features standard. Further, the seven-seater SUV is likely to feature Level 2 autonomy, a 360-degree camera, updated Bluelink-connected car tech, USB Type-C ports with faster charging, and more.

Other expected features include a panoramic sunroof, TPMS, ventilated front seats, wireless chargers in the first and rear rows, an air purifier, Bose sound system, powered driver seat, four-wheel disc brakes, front and rear parking sensors, traction control, OTA updates, electric parking brake with auto hold, cooled glove box, idle engine start/stop, puddle lamps, and a 64-colour ambient lighting system, among others.

Hyundai Alcazar facelift: Powertrain

The upcoming Alcazar facelift is likely to retain the same petrol and diesel powertrain options as the current model. The current Alcazar offers a new 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged GDi petrol engine producing 160PS and 253Nm of torque, as well as a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine with 116PS and 250Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a six-speed manual, a six-speed automatic, and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.

The current Alcazar's prices start from Rs 16.77 lakh and go up to Rs 21.28 lakh (ex-showroom). The refreshed model is expected to come with revised pricing.
