Hyundai Alcazar: Old vs New

Hyundai Motor India will launch the updated Alcazar on 9 September in the market. The carmaker has already opened bookings for a token amount of Rs 25,000. The facelift brings numerous significant changes to the SUV. Read on to know what is new compared to the outgoing model.

Hyundai Alcazar Old vs New: Design

While the outgoing Alcazar looks very similar to pre-facelift Creta, the Alcazar facelift stands out with a distinct design as that takes inspiration from its siblings, such as Santa Fe and Exter. For instance, the face has a Creta-like bumper and headlights but the H-shaped daytime running lights are reminicent of the Santa Fe and Exter. In fact, the front end is more upright and uplifted compared to the pre-facelift model. Hyundai has also given newly designed rear end, including taillamps and 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

There will be four variants for the Alcazar facelift, namely Executive, Prestige, Platinum, and Signature across nine colours, including a new Robust Emerald Matte. Hyundai has added the new entry-level Excutive variant to the line-up that is not offered with the current Alcazar.

Inside, the interior resembles the Creta facelift except a new dual-tone colour theme in Noble Brown and Haze Navy Blue. However, the layout is far different than the outgoing Alcazar. There is a single panel housing two 10.25-inch screens - a touchscreen infotainment system and all-digital instrument cluster, revamped centre console and air-con switches, new dual-zone temperature control, new boss mode, new powered driver's seat with memory settings, USB Type-C and Type-A sockets, new ventilated second-row seats (only six-seat variants), and so on.

Hyundai has also given it winged headrests in the rear and captain seats with improved padding. There is also one-touch seat fold option in the seven-seater variants for easier entry and exit into the third row. Alongside two USB Type-C charging ports, the second-row seat now get a wireless charging pad.

Other new and updated features of the 2024 Alcazar facelift could include ADAS, 360deg camera, wireless charging pad in the front, Bose sound system, panoramic sunroof, telematics with SOS, connected car tech, six airbags, ESP, brake assist, four-wheel discs, electronic parking brake with auto hold, puddle lamps, TPMS, auto-dimming IRVM, auto headlamps and wipers, and voice assistant with local language support, among others.

Hyundai Alcazar Old vs New: Engine specifications

The 2024 Alcazar facelift will continue with the 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine producing 160PS and 253Nm of torque and 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel unit that delivers 116PS and 250Nm. Transmission options include a six-speed manual, a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, and six-speed automatic.

Hyundai Alcazar Old vs New: Price

The 2024 Hyundai Alcazar prices could range between Rs 16.90-17 lakh and Rs 21.80-22 lakh compared to the prices of the outgoing model, that is Rs 16.77-21.28 lakh (ex-showroom).
