Hyundai Creta facelift will debut on January 16 in India
The Hyundai Creta has dominated the mid-size SUV sector; however, with competitors gaining new technologies such as ADAS, it is time for the Creta to be updated. Hyundai India is doing just that and will be launching the updated SUV in India on January 16. The extensively revamped version of the popular mid-size SUV will include a new design, Level 2 ADAS technologies, and a new turbo petrol engine.
Hyundai Creta facelift: Design
As seen in the spy pictures, the upcoming Creta facelift will feature an overhauled exterior, including a new grille, redesigned vertically stacked LED headlights, new front and rear bumpers, reworked taillamps, and a new set of alloy wheels. In comparison, the international-spec Creta facelift gets a pre-facelift Tucson-style fascia with the parametric jewel grille (which also houses daytime running lights) and vertically stacked headlamps.
Hyundai Creta facelift: Powertrain
The 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines will be carried over to the 2023 Creta. What's new, will be a new strong 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that we now see in the updated Seltos with 160PS of max power and 253Nm of peak torque. Transmission choices for this engine include 6iMT and 7DCT.
Hyundai Creta facelift: Interior and Features
On the inside, the revamped interior could come with a dual-tone theme, a single-piece panel housing an all-digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen infotainment system, an air purifier, a wireless charging pad, leatherette upholstery, a hi-fi sound system, powered and ventilated front seats, telematics, dual-zone temperature control, USB Type-C ports, and more.
The Creta facelift will get six airbags as standard across all variants as other Hyundai models. We expect Hyundai to offer other safety features as standard as well. More importantly, it will boast ADAS in addition to a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, ESP, traction control, hill hold assist, front and rear parking sensors, puddle lamps, updated connected car tech, and paddle shifters, among others.
Hyundai Creta facelift: Pricing
While the on-sale Creta prices range between Rs 10.87 lakh and Rs 19.20 lakh (ex-showroom), expect the updated Creta to command a higher premium. Upon launch, it will take on the Kia Seltos facelift, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, and MG Astor.
