Hyundai's Tata Punch rival, the Exter, will launch in India on 10 July, 2023. Ahead of its launch, the interior images of the SUV has been surfaced on the internet, revealing its dashboard design, multi-language support for instrument cluster, steering wheel, and a few features.

Hyundai Exter Interior Explained

As seen in the pictures, the interior of the upcoming Exter, especially the dashboard, looks familiar. The touchscreen infotainment system layout, central air con vents, and switches resemble the Grand i10 Nios. In fact, the AC controls are also expected to be reminiscent. The touchscreen appears to be an eight-inch unit that will support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. However, the Exter gets a digital instrument cluster similar to the Venue and other Hyundai and Kia vehicles. But it is likely to be a smaller unit.

The multifunctional leather-wrapped steering wheel comes with various buttons to control media, open voice command, answer/decline calls, turn up/down volume, and more. It also allows to go through the menu in the MID. The digital instrument cluster MID will support various Indian languages, such as Marathi. Above all, there are buttons to activate and deactivate cruise control function. Although the upholstery is not visible in the pictures, the Exter may come with leatherette seat covers.

Other features will include a voice assisted electric sunroof, TPMS, a rearview camera with sensors, ESC, hill start assist, six airbags, dash cam, and more. However, it is not clear whether Hyundai will offer its Blulink connect car features with the Exter.

Hyundai Exter Variants and Colours

The Exter will be available in a choice of seven variants, starting from EX, EX (O), S, S (O), SX, SX (O), and SX (O) Connect. Further, Hyundai will offer a range of single- and dual-tone colour schemes with its new offering, such as Ranger Khaki, Atlas White, Fiery Red, Cosmic Blue, Starry Night, and Titan Grey, including Ranger Khaki with Abyss Black, Atlas Black with Abyss Black, and Cosmic Blue with Abyss Black.

Hyundai Exter Powertrain

Powering the Hyundai Exter will be a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine mated to a five-speed manual or AMT automatic transmission. CNG version could be also available sometime later. The motor is likely to produce 83PS and 114Nm of torque. Upon launch, the Exter will rival the Tata Punch and Citroen C3.
