Hyundai i20 facelift spotted testing in South Korea
A camouflaged test mule of the revised model has been spotted driving around the world, suggesting that the Hyundai i20 is getting a mid-life makeover.
It's anticipated that the outside of the upcoming i20 facelift will receive a few visual upgrades. Probably among them will be a new front fascia. The test vehicle looks to feature sharper-looking headlights and a low-slung trapezoidal grille.
The new i20 may also receive some design tweaks in this region, given the substantial concealment on the vehicle's back. Perhaps new tail light clusters with V-shaped LEDs will appear.
The 1.5-litre diesel engine may be dropped from the i20 facelift, while the existing 1.2-litre and 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engines are expected to remain.
Updates on the inside can include new upholstery and colour options, fresh infotainment and digital instrument cluster graphics. Although the i20 comes with a lot of goodies now, it might use extra USB ports, updated infotainment software, and connected car options.
The Hyundai i20 will hopefully arrive in India only by late 2023. The i20 will continue its rivalry with the likes of the Maruti Baleno, Tata Altroz and Toyota Glanza.
