Hyundai Ioniq 9 is the brands latest flagship EV
The Hyundai Ioniq 9 is the South Korean brand's new premium, flagship EV SUV and will be offered with three rows of seating and promises plenty of room and a considerable amount of driving range. Underpinned by the well-known E-GMP architecture that underpins several Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis automobiles, it functions as the brand's counterpart to the Kia EV9. Additionally, from November 22 to December 1, the e-SUV will be displayed at the LA Auto Show.
Hyundai will offer the Ioniq 9 in 6 and 7-seater configurations and keeping in mind the Ioniq 9 is 5,060mm long, 1,980mm wide and 1,790mm high, with a 3,130mm wheelbase you get the the idea that there's going to be plenty of room in this SUV for all 3-rows of seats. In theory, the new Hyundai is also bigger than its causing, the Kia EV9.
Aerodynamic efficiency is combined with futuristic features like eight-bit headlights and taillights in the "aerosthetic" external design. The optional digital side mirrors result in a drag coefficient of only 0.259 Cd. In addition to new active air flaps, a uniquely shaped underbody, concealed antennae, and improved wheel designs, the Ioniq 9's aerodynamic success is largely due to its swept-back windshield and streamlined roofline, which manages to retain roof rails and go without any kind of spoiler.
The smooth wrapping continues down the side, where each car's amount of black cladding depends on the trim level. There will be a variety of alloy wheels available in sizes ranging from 19 to 21 inches. The Ioniq 9 is significantly sleeker, with a taper towards the back that Hyundai says is evocative of a boat tail, while the EV9 proudly flaunts its boxy shape.
At debut, the Hyundai Ioniq 9 will come with three different powertrain choices. The efficient 218PS and 350Nm of torque from a rear-mounted motor found in the entry-level variant allows for a comparatively calm 0 to 100 kph speed of 9.4 seconds. According to Hyundai, the official range of this model is up to 600 kilometres.
The regular all-wheel-drive vehicle's rear motor is larger than the front, together they generate 313PS, which is sufficient to go from 0 to 100 kph in 6.8 seconds. For the time being, the top model will be the Performance AWD variant. It will reach 100 kph in 5.3 seconds with 435PS.
Although the inside design isn't as striking as the outside, it still has a lot of fascinating features, such as the pill-shaped door card designs with gentle ambient lighting and lovely textures. The centre touchscreen entertainment system and the digital instrument cluster are both housed on two 12-inch screens. An optional 14-speaker Bose system is offered in addition to the basic 8-speaker audio.
The Ioniq 9 also features swivel seats in the second row, just like a vintage minivan. When the car is not moving, they enable the second-row seats to be rotated 180 degrees. The car is highlighted by the abundance of eco-friendly materials used on its interior surfaces, such as recycled PET fabric, wool fabric, and eco-process leather. Like the EV9, the second-row seats on the Ioniq 9 may be rotated. It will be available with six or seven seats.
Hyundai is equipped with the newest safety features as standard. Among them are High Beam Assist, Safe Exit Warning, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2, and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist. Additionally, it has 10 airbags installed.
