Hyundai Venue facelift spotted testing in India ahead of expected 2022 launch

Tuhin Guha Updated: February 10, 2022, 08:11 PM IST

The facelifted Hyundai Venue, test mules of which were so far seen only internationally, has now been spotted in India. This should mean Hyundai India is planning a 2022 launch for the mid-life refresh for the popular sub-four-metre SUV. The changes to the Venue seen here are in line with the international model spied previously.

2022 Hyundai Venue facelift exterior

Seen with earlier spy images, a notable change to the Venue with this update seems to be the new grille. The new slatted design seems to have been inspired by the latest-gen Hyundai Tucson and is also seen on the facelifted Hyundai Creta that debuted in Indonesia recently. The headlamps may also been reworked to be full LEDs while the front airdam also seems to have been enlarged to go with the new look. The side profile remains largely unchanged except for a new design to the alloy wheels. The rear, on the other hand, seems to have been significantly revised. The simple tailamp unit has evolved into a two-piece LED design while the bootlid now gets a slight brow below the rear windscreen to meld with the new look. The bumpers seem to have been reworked as well, with a distinct ridged reflector unit and differently styled faux diffuser.

2022 Hyundai Venue facelift interior, features, safety

The interiors of the refreshed Hyundai Venue haven't been seen yet but we expect to see new colours and textures here. The seat upholstery may also be upgraded while some minor changes can be expected in the dashboard layout. Expected new features on the 2022 Hyundai Venue include the larger 10.25-inch touchscreen, a more advanced digital instrument cluster and an expanded set of connected car features. Safety features are expected to be carried over from the current model.

2022 Hyundai Venue facelift engine, gearbox options

The 2022 Hyundai Venue facelift will most likely carry over the same set of features as the current version. The sub-four-metre SUV is currently available with three engine options. The base motor is a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol that puts out 83PS and 114 Nm and is paired with a five-speed manual. The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol makes 120PS and 172 Nm and can be had with a six-speed manual or iMT and a seven-speed DCT. There is also a diesel option that makes 100PS and 240 Nm from a 1.5-litre motor and pairs with a six-speed manual.

2022 Hyundai Venue facelift launch date, expected price

The Hyundai Venue facelift should make its international debut by the middle of 2022 with an Indian launch to follow after. Expect prices to increase by Rs 20,000 to Rs 40,000 over the current model. Prices for the Hyundai Venue currently start from Rs 7 lakh and go up to Rs 11.85 lakh, ex-showroom.
