Mahindra has launched the updated XUV500 in India at Rs 12.32 lakh, ex-showroom. The updated version gets a host of cosmetic updates and additional features which, according to Mahindra, has made the SUV a lot more premium than before. Importantly, the 2.2-litre motor in the Mahindra XUV500 now makes more power and torque at 155Ps and 360nm, up from 140PS/330Nn. In addition, the new Mahindra XUV500 also gets a 2.2-litre 140PS petrol motor. The diesel variants are offered with a 6-speed manual transmission whereas the petrol gets a 6-speed automatic. While the former should be suitable for those who seek long distance touring, the petrol variant should be ideal for those who primarily commute in the city.
