We recently got a chance to sample the 2018 version of the Maserati Quattroporte, arguably one of the most good looking cars we've driven. But that's not all. There's more to this Italian bombshell, for its driving dynamics are sure to make the owner ditch the back seat for the driver's. The variant we drove was the Quattroporte Gran Lusso with a V6 diesel engine. It may lack the sweet note of the petrol V8 (in the GTS model) but it still sounds unlike any other diesel car in the market. But enough of us telling you about the car. We'll let the images do the talking.
They say that simple is beautiful. Simple is elegant. And the Maserati Quattroporte is just that. The clean, smooth lines, low-slung stance and the right amount of creases, the Quattroporte's design is one that will age very, very gracefully
The big, ten-slat grille dominates the front end with the Maserati trident taking pride of place in the centre
Mumbai's stunning architecture forms a backdrop that complements the stylish Quattroporte
Sleek is the word that comes to mind when you look at the side profile of the car. The triple gills on the front fender is a Maserati trait
Quad pipes. Fat rubber. This Maserati means business
The interior is as beautiful as the outside. There are no unnecessary buttons or switches, making it a clutter free cabin that feels refreshing to be seated in
While most luxury car manufacturers have moved to digital instrument clusters, there is a certain charm about analogue dials. Note the red tipped needles
Rear armrest houses controls for the aircon and seat adjustments
The new 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The graphics are crisp and the screen is quick to respond to touch
The fixed, aluminium paddle shifts are beautifully crafted and make driving the Quattroporte quite involving
The boot space is enough to stack suitcases and set off on a Grand Tour
Inflatable space saver is neatly stowed away under the boot
The 3-litre V6 diesel motor in the Quattroporte puts out 275PS at 4,000rpm and 600Nm, between 2,000 rpm to 2,600 rpm
