India-spec 2022 MG ZS EV facelift revealed ahead of launch

2022 MG ZS EV facelift exterior
The refreshed MG ZS EV will get new styling, bringing it in line with the MG Astor. The LED headlamps are similar to the petrol-powered SUV but the front grille section has now been blanked out, housing only the charging port. The bumpers have also been revised with a large two part airdam that houses the ADAS sensor and sharp cuts to the edges. There are new 17-inch alloy wheels while at the rear there should be the new segmented LED tailamps and a more aerodynamic bumper design like in the front.
2022 MG ZS EV facelift interior, features, safety
While interiors of the India-spec ZS EV facelift haven't been shown yet, it's highly likely that the EV will get Astor's new dash layout with its soft-touch materials, rotary air vents and layered look. This should be done up in an all-black theme with contract stitching. The centre console is expected to house a rotary gear shifter and larger storage spaces. Expected feature highlights should be the new 10.1-inch touchscreen with the AI assistant, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, powered seats, panoramic sunroof, e-brake, heated ORVM, rain-sensing wipers, PM2.5 filter, front and rear armrests and a Bluetooth-operated digital key for locking/unlocking and starting the Astor. Notably, the 2022 ZS EV will also get the level 2 ADAS system that is available with the Astor. This should include adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning and prevention, intelligent headlamp control, rear-drive assist and a speed assist system amongst others. Passive safety features that may be offered are a 360-degree camera, traction control, hill-descent control, ABS with EBD and 6 airbags.
2022 MG ZS EV facelift battery, range
The 2022 MG ZS EV is expected to continue with the same battery pack and motor as the current version, although a larger 51.2 kWh pack is also in the offing. The current 44.5 kWh battery pack has an ARAI-certified range of 419km. This puts out 143PS and 353 Nm with a 0 to 100 kmph time of 8.5s. The larger pack should push range closer to 500 km.
