iVOOMi to expand its footprint across India in 2024; new electric scooters in the pipeline
Pune-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer iVOOMi is geared up with ambitious expansion plans for the Indian market. Ashwin Bhandari, Co-Founder and CEO, iVOOMi recently shared the future plans, including opening new dealerships. The company aims to not only widen its dealership network but also to electrify the market with new e-scooters and upgraded existing models. Currently, iVOOMi sells the S1 with a claimed 120km range and 55kmph of top speed and the Jeet X with a claimed range of 110km and 65km of top speed.
iVOOMi's redesigned third-generation battery pack offers a considerable range boost, features a 50 longer lifespan and 1.25 times the power of the current unit. But that is not all â" the new batter is lighter too. More importantly, the new battery keeps the original size, ensuring compatibility with existing iVOOMi e-scooters.
The upcoming iVOOMi scooters will boast cloud data connectivity, granting riders access to a range of data and services, such as real-time information, scooter diagnostics, and even smart security features. Bluetooth-enabled displays, NFC, and 4G/5G support will also join the party, along with turn-by-turn navigation and keyless entry for added convenience.
In 2024, iVOOMi has set the stage to launch three electric scooters: the refreshed S1 and S1 2.0 and JeetX, along with the new Jeet XL. The S1/S1 2.0 series benefits from the new battery pack, unlocking a 50 per cent range increase, while the JeeX enjoys a 20 per cent boost. But the biggest common factor is that connectivity features come standard on all three models.
To support to its expansion plans, iVOOMi intends to establish new dealerships across India. Currently, 80 per cent of the company's sales hail from Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, with a presence in Karnataka and Chhattisgarh. Currently, it manufactures electric scooters in Pune, Maharashtra.
