Jaguar Land Rover has unveiled its Open Innovation approach for next-generation car technologies.
Jaguar Land Rover has unveiled a new Open Innovation strategy for digital services, products, tools, and processes, in which it will engage with start-ups and scale-ups.
Jaguar Land Rover has launched a new Open Innovation approach to support its Modern Luxury vision for the company, its partners, and consumers by accelerating next-generation technology and sustainability. On electrification, connectivity, digital services, metaverse, intelligent enterprise, manufacturing, supply chain, and sustainability, Open Innovation will engage with start-ups, scale-ups, and like-minded external organizations.
Jaguar Land Rover will open an innovation centre in the UK as part of its new worldwide strategy, in collaboration with Plug and Play, a corporate innovation platform and investor. In addition, access to the thriving Latin American start-up ecosystem will be provided through two separate partnerships with Cubo Itau and Firjan.
The news is part of Jaguar Land Rover's Reimagine strategy, which aims to make the world's most coveted premium automobiles for the most discerning consumers. The Open Innovation initiative will assist the company find digital services, products, tools, and processes that will help it accomplish its goal of net-zero by 2039 while also establishing new value chains by engaging with innovators and industry experts.
Hundreds of start-ups from many industries, including fintech, agribusiness, healthcare, and retail, are presently housed in Cubo Itau in So Paulo. Jaguar Land Rover will be a part of Cubo's newly formed Smart Mobility Hub, which will pioneer automotive industry innovation.
Firjan is a private organization that represents Rio de Janeiro's industrial and business sectors. Firjan will work closely with Jaguar Land Rover to link start-ups creating sophisticated automotive manufacturing processes and give access to modern facilities for R&D programs, thanks to its network of 10,000 company members.
Jaguar Land Rover has chosen over 70 'champions' from key business sectors, including sustainability, engineering, design, research, and production, to help drive the plan forward.
