Jawa Motorcycles opens its first two dealerships in Pune

Jawa Motorcycles has opened the first two of the over 100 dealerships it plans to set up in India. Both these outlets are in Pune and prospective buyers can come in andÂ book and test-ride the iconic Jawa and Jawa forty two motorcycles. The dealerships have been opened in Baner and Chinchwad. The company says that it has designed these spaces to evoke the major attributes of the brand like nostalgia, good design, technology and so on.

The spaces have been done up inÂ dark polished wood fixtures, subtle inlays, raw textures and vintage oxblood upholsteries. The dealerships showcase the brand's history, and are also a communal space with large tables, books and themed music playing in the background.

Speaking at the inauguration, Boman Irani, chairman and managing director, Rustomjee said, "It gives me great pride to inaugurate Classic Legends first Jawa Motorcycles dealership in Pune. Jawa Motorcycles has enjoyed a huge fan following through and it was a historic moment for us when we brought Jawa back in India last month. We are quite upbeat to offer these classics to the motorcycle enthusiasts in the country."

Jawa Motorcycles has started operations in India with two motorcycles. These are the Jawa, priced at Rs 1.65 lakh and the Jawa Forty TWO, priced at Rs 1.56 lakh. Both ex-showroom Pune. These are 293cc, liquid cooled, single cylinder, DOHC engine nestled within a double cradle chassis and putting out 27.4PS and 28Nm.
