Jeep Compass facelift gets dark-themed Night Eagle edition in Australia
Jeep has reintroduced the dark-themed Night Eagle variant for the facelifted Jeep Compass, starting with the Australian market. The Night Eagle variant was available in India with the pre-facelift Compass around the end of its tenure and the variant can be expected to be re-launched here over the course of this year.

The Jeep Compass Night Eagle gets some black cosmetic enhancements on the outside to underscore its dark theme. This includes a gloss black grille, gloss black fog lamp surrounds, a black roof and black badging. The front fascia also gets more body-coloured panels like the mid-spec variants of the current Compass. Along the sides, the window surrounds are done in black while there is a new all-black design for the 18-inch alloy wheels. A new Polar White paint shade has also been introduced while there is Night Eagle badging at the rear.

The dark theme continues on the inside where the Jeep Compass Night Eagle gets a black headliner, a black dash fascia with chrome highlights, piano black accents, black seat upholstery with contrasting stitching and a black instrument cluster.
Unlike the India-spec Compass, this version gets a full suite of active safety systems while the features list a mix between the mid-spec Longitude and Limited variants available in India. The Australian version gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch instrument cluster display, wireless charging, keyless entry and push-button start, auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, auto high-beam and an electronic parking brake.

In the Australian market, the Jeep Compass Night Eagle is powered by the 2.4-litre Tigershark petrol motor that pairs with a six-speed automatic, putting out 175PS. There is no AWD option. When the Night Eagle launches in India, expect it to be powered by the same set of engines as other Compass variants. This means a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol making 164PS and 250 Nm, pairing with a six-speed manual or seven-speed DCT. The more popular choice is the 2.0-litre diesel with 170PS and 350 Nm, paired with a nine-speed auto or a six-speed manual.
2022 Jeep Compass Night Eagle expected price, launch date India
The Jeep Compass Night Eagle is priced at the equivalent of Rs 22.34 lakh in the Australian market. When launched in India, expect it to be priced at a roughly Rs 50,000 premium over the Longitude variant. Prices for the Longitude variant of the Jeep Compass currently start at Rs 21.29 lakh for the diesel manual.
