Jeep has officially unveiled the battery-electric Wagoneer S. Jeep's premium electric SUV has over 480 kilometres of range, a tech-packed cabin, and some breathtaking performance for an SUV its size.

The Wagoneer name is the only thing carried forward from its ICE sibling, but it's a whole new car built on Stellantis' STLA Large platform, which will underlie the majority of the brand's future EV vehicles. The upright, seven-slot grille (which is closed 0ff) and 20-inch wheels are standard Jeep equipment. The 2024 Launch Edition of the Jeep Wagoneer S will include distinctive dark accent features such as gloss Black wheels and other external aspects.

The 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S is powered by two electric motors, one in the front and the other in the back. They produce a total of 600PS and 800Nm of torque. All-wheel drive is standard, and the front electric motor has a disconnect mode to save power and extend range.

Performance is brisk, and Jeep's Selec-Terrain traction control system offers five separate driving modes: Auto, Sport, Eco, Snow, and Sand. Jeep claims a 3.4-second sprint to 100kmph and a top speed of 200kmph. The Wagoneer has a 100kWh battery pack with a 400-volt system and can charge from 20 to 80 percent in just 23 minutes using a DC fast charger.

According to Jeep, the Wagoneer S has a standard 12.3-inch driver display screen, a 10.25-inch passenger display screen, and a 12.3-inch centre display. Both the media and passenger screens use Jeep's Uconnect 5 system. Jeep claims that technology allows the passenger touch screen to send directions to the media screen. The Uconnect 5 architecture also enables this Jeep to get over-the-air upgrades.

Jeep's first EV boasts numerous novel elements, including a wine-red-stiched steering wheel with a flat-bottom design that contributes to the athletic interior. Another Jeep first is the electronic door release, which can be actuated with the touch of a thumb.

The Launch Edition model has configurable LED lighting (daytime/nighttime settings) and ambient lighting with up to 64 colours. It also includes a 19-speaker McIntosh premium audio system with a 1,160-watt amp and 12-inch subwoofer.
