Jeep's compact SUV spotted undisguised for the first time
Jeep had earlier this year shown its compact SUV concept, and now the car has been seen in plain sight while being filmed for what looks to be a television commercial.
The newest spy pictures disclose the tiny SUV's design highlights by showing it out without any wraps or camouflage. The next Jeep small SUV, which will slot below the Jeep Renegade, has a distinctive appearance with a smoother rear end. The Jeep Compass and the SUV are similar in terms of style.
The famous Jeep grille is present on the front fascia, which is styled in the customary Jeep manner. The front grille has seven closed-off rings rather than seven slots. This established the new Jeep small SUV's status as an EV (Electric Vehicle).
The split headlamp design, top-mounted LED DRLs, closed grille, prominent bumper, thick body cladding, muscular wheel arches, sporty alloy wheels, and rear door handle positioned on the C-pillar are some of the important elements. The SUV's rear has hefty bumpers with fake skid plates and edgy taillamps.
It will be the first Jeep designed specifically for electric vehicles. The electric Common Modular Platform (e-CMP) from PSA Groupe is anticipated to serve as the foundation for the new vehicle. Based on the same architecture, electric crossovers from Alfa Romeo and Fiat will also be released.
Both a mild hybrid petrol engine and a pure EV powertrain will be available in Jeep's upcoming compact SUV. Both types' base versions will come equipped with front-wheel drive (FWD). Electronic all-wheel-drive, which will be an option, is anticipated for top-spec models.
As of this year, Jeep will be only launching its bigger SUVs in India. There is no confirmation as to whether or when Jeep will be bringing its more compact SUVs to India.
