JLR India reports 102 per cent Y-o-Y growth with best-ever Q1 sales
JLR India has announced that it has registered the highest-ever first quarter sales with a year-on-year growth of 102 per cent in Q1 of financial year 2024. The British marque sold a total of 1,048 units in the first quarter of FY2024 compared to the same period of the previous year. The Range Rover, Rover Sport, and Defender witnessed a sales growth of 209 per cent. These three models continue to be in demand, contributing 78 per cent to the JLR's current order book.

JLR said that its order book grew significantly by 88 per cent in the first quarter of financial year 2024, thanks to the launch of the new Range Rover and Range Rover Sport in the second half of financial year 2023 along with the in demand Defender. With this, the current order book comprises over six months of sales and is seeing a constant month-on-month growth. On the other hand, JLR certified used car business reported a 137 per cent in the first quarter of FY24.
2023 JLR Range Rover Velar facelift
In other news, JLR recently opened bookings for the 2023 Range Rover Velar facelift in India ahead of its launch. The refreshed SUV will be available in the top-spec HSE trim across four paint options: Metallic Varesine Blue, Premium Metallic Zadar Grey, and Fuji White, Santorini Black. The updated Range Rover Velar facelift comes powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged petrol generating 250PS and 365Nm of torque and 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel motor that makes 150PS and 420Nm of torque. Both units are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
