Both the litre class bikes feature the same four-cylinder engine. They get the 1043cc liquid-cooled DOHC 16-valve in-line four engine with digital fuel injection. Both will make 142PS of power at 10000rpm and 111Nm of peak torque at 7300rpm.
What you see is what you'll get. Both bikes will come in a single colour scheme. Yuki Horiuchi, MD of Kawasaki India, showcasing the Z1000 at Hyatt Pune

They may not be flagship superbikes but both feature a 3-mode traction control system and a power selection mode.
New Tokico monobloc calipers bite down on twin 310mm discs and Kawasaki claims it's enough for 'one finger braking' ABS to keep things safely under control.
Both Z1000 and Ninja 1000 feature twin spar cast alloy frames like the Ninja ZX-10R with fully adjustable and upside-down telescopic front suspension along with horizontal layout mono-shocks at rear.
With these launches, Kawasaki will have a total of six bikes on sale in India. The Ninja 300 and 650 are assembled in India at Bajaj's Chakan plant. The other two full imports are the ZX10R and ZX14R.
The company expects to sell 1,000 bikes by the end of 2013, and plans to open on an average two showrooms a year. While the company agreed that this means that the expansion in India will be slower than its competition, it wants to make sure that all outlets have right manpower with proper technical training.

Kawasaki says that another model is coming to India next month, and claims that it will dominate the segment. We expect it to be the Z800.
