Kia Carens hits 1.5 lakh sales milestone
Kia Carens has been a massive success since its introduction in February 2022, and the company's flagship car has reached a milestone by exceeding 1.5 lakh domestic sales. Kia also claims that 50 percent of customers favour the top and mid-trim levels of this popular family vehicle, which include options such as a sunroof, multi-drive modes, ventilated seats, and Kia Connect, to mention a few.
Among the available powertrains, the petrol powertrain has emerged as the most popular, accounting for 57 percent of demand, followed by the diesel powertrain at 43 percent. Additionally, manual transmission remains popular, with 62 percent of consumers choosing it.
In April 2024, the brand relaunched the 6-seater form of Carens and claims to have gotten an extremely positive reception. Priced between Rs 10.52 lakh to Rs 19.67 lakh (ex-showroom), the Carens has grown a lot in popularity mainly among families.
The Kia Carens is offered with 3 different engine options:1.5-litre NA petrol, 1.5-litre turbo petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. A six-speed manual, six-speed iMT, six-speed automatic, and seven-speed DCT handle transmission chores. Notably, the six-speed manual transmission may now be ordered with the diesel engine.
Kia Carens has not only been in great demand in home markets, but it has also piqued the interest of customers worldwide, with over 17,000 units exported. The vehicle has also contributed more than 15 percent of the company's total domestic wholesale.
