Kia India delivers 200 Kia EV6s across the country, twice as many as planned
200 Kia EV6 electric crossovers have been delivered by Kia to the Indian market in total. This amount, which was brought in as a CBU, is twice what was anticipated for the year the model was introduced.
Additional EV6s have been purchased, and the automaker will further raise its 2022 allocation to fulfill the EV orders. The EV6 is sold in India for between Rs 59.95 lakh and Rs 64.95 lakh in CBUs .
The 2022 Kia EV6 electric vehicle has been launched in the country in a single top-spec GT Line variant, brought in as a CBU, with two drivetrain options available. Both versions utilise the same 77.4kWh battery pack and the maximum range of the more efficient RWD model is pegged at 528km (WLTP).
Speaking specifics of the drivetrains, the Kia EV6 in its single-motor layout produces 229PS/350Nm torque, while the dual-motor AWD model produces 325PS/605Nm torque. Both can accept up to 350kW charge rates, for a 10-80 per cent charge in just 18 minutes, while a 50kW fast charger will achieve the same feat in 73 minutes.
The Kia EV6 will be sold through 15 dealerships across 12 cities. The Kia EV6 comes with an 8-year battery warranty and a 3-year vehicle warranty.
A comprehensive range of high-end features, including a panoramic sunroof, motorized tailgate, 14-speaker Meridian audio system, twin 12.3-inch screens for the driver's instruments and navigation, and an augmented reality heads-up display, are available with the Kia EV6 for the asking price (HUD).
In the Indian market, Kia exclusively offers the EV6 as an electric vehicle. A mass-market, India-focused EV is being developed by the automaker and is scheduled to debut in 2025.
