Kia Sonet vs Hyundai Venue: What's different?
The Kia Sonet facelift will be launched in India very soon and the car has already seemed to capture the attention of many customers looking for a sub-4 metre SUV. The segment is a very competitive space with many players already having a stronghold in the market. One of the key competitors for the Sonet is its South Korean cousin, the Hyundai Venue. Let's examine a few features the Kia Sonet offers over the Hyundai Venue.
A 360-degree camera
With the facelift, the Kia Sonet gets a 360-degree camera. It also gets a blind spot monitor, which sends data to the digital instrument cluster. The 360-degree camera arrangement on the new Sonet may also be viewed remotely via Kia's smartphone app. It is only available on the SUV's fully outfitted GTX+ and X-Line trim levels.
Fully digital driver's display
The updated Kia Sonet has a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, carried over from the updated Kia Seltos and outperforms the Venue's semi-digital instrument cluster. By including a blind spot monitor that we mentioned above, this advanced display improves the driving experience. Kia has made this premium digital screen accessible starting with the HTX+ model, improving the SUV's interior atmosphere.
A 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment
Not only does the Sonet have a 10.25-inch digital driver display, but it also has a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. This infotainment system is available on the more expensive HTX+, GTX+, and X-Line models. Despite undergoing a facelift in 2022, the Venue's 8-inch infotainment unit has not been upgraded, allowing the Sonet to keep its technical advantage.
Front parking sensors
The Kia Sonet has been praised in India for its sophisticated parking sensor system, which incorporates both front and rear sensors, giving it an advantage over the Hyundai Venue. The SUV retains its feature edge over the Hyundai Venue in the facelifted version, which is offered starting with the mid-spec HTK model.
Ventilated front seat
One of the Sonet's industry-first innovations that has since become a more frequent option in its sector is ventilated front seats, which are now available from the higher-spec HTX+ trim and above. The Hyundai Venue, on the other hand, still lacks this convenience function.
Automatic transmission for diesel powertrain
With its diesel engine, the Kia Sonet remains the only vehicle in the category to have a torque converter automatic transmission. Even while the Venue has the same engine option, it lacks the convenience of an automatic transmission. Kia provides a diesel-auto combination on the mid-spec HTX as well as the fully outfitted GTX+ and X-Line models of the Sonet.
