KTM 390 SMC R spy shots surface
The KTM 390 SMC R has been spotted testing in India and we can expect the launch to happen somewhere in the first half of 2025. The bike was first seen at the EICMA 2024 and the testing confirms its arrival in India soon.
The spy shots confirm spoked wheels, probably 17-inches, a high beak mudguard for the front section, large rotor (320 mm likely), an underbelly exhaust unit, grab rails for the pillion and saree guard for the India-spec.
The KTM 390 SMC R will come shod with with Apollo tyres, the bike shown at EICMA had Michelin Pilot Road 6 tyres. It will also feature adjustable long travel suspension which is similar to the upcoming 390 Adventure S.
It will be equipped with the same 399cc, single-cylinder liquid cooled engine mated to a six-speed gearbox that we have seen on the KTM 390 Duke. The engine pushes 46 PS and 39 Nm of peak torque. We can expect a different state of tune though. The company has not disclosed any technical details about the bike yet.
KTM is all set to launch the 390 Adventure S and the 390 Enduro R in January 2025. We can expect the launch of the KTM 390 SMC R a couple of months after that, likely in the first half of 2025.
