KTM launches 390 Adventure X; prices start at Rs 2.80 lakh

KTM has launched the new 390 Adventure X in India at Rs 2,80,652 (ex-showroom). It has also updated the entire line-up with OBD2, including the 390 Adventure. Notably, the new entry-level 390 Adventure X is considerably cheaper by just under Rs 60,000 than the 390 Adventure, which costs Rs 3,38,746 (ex-showroom). With this, KTM's Royal Enfield Himalayan rival has become more accessible to more customers.

KTM 390 Adventure X and 2023 390 Adventure: Design and Colours
The new 390 Adventure X and 390 Adventure carry the same design. The former is available in two colour options: Galactic Blue and Dark Galvano Black, while the latter is offered in Atlantic Blue and Dark Galvano Black. The Design highlights of the 390 Adventure include a split LED headlamp, a small windscreen, a split seat, angular bodywork, and an engine guard, among others.

Powering the 390 Adventure line-up is a 373.27cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 43.5PS at 9,000rpm and 37Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm. This motor comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. Moreover, the engine now meets the BS6 phase-2 norms and hence comes equipped with OBD2.

The new entry-level 390 Adventure X misses out on several electronics, such as traction control, riding modes, and a quick shifter. It gets the LCD instrument console offered with the 250 Adventure. On the other hand, the 390 Adventure continues with ride-by-wire, traction control, dual-channel ABS, cornering ABS, colour TFT display with smartphone connectivity, slipper clutch, quick shifter, and riding modes.

KTM 390 Adventure X and 2023 390 Adventure: Equipment and Hardware
KTM has given the motorcycles somewhat identical hardware. For reference, the 390 Adventure X and 390 Adventure feature WP Apex 43mm upside-down front forks and a rear mono-shock with pre-load adjustability. Both variants also come with a 320mm single disc at the front and a 230mm single disc at the back. Further, both variants get 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels.

The KTM 390 Adventure range takes on the likes of the Royal Enfield Himalayan and BMW G 310 GS in India.
