Lamborghini posts its best ever sales; Huracan successor to be unveiled on August 16

The first part of the year was incredibly successful for Automobili Lamborghini in terms of sales and revenue. By the end of June 2024, the Italian supercar manufacturer had delivered 5,558 cars and made €1,621 million in sales, a 14.1 percent increase over the same time in 2023.

Lamborghini currently produces the Revuelto, Urus and Huracan at their plant in Sant'Agata Bolognese. Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, commented "We are extremely proud of the results we achieved in the first half of 2024. We are going through a pivotal phase, supported by the largest investment in the company's history, with the main objective of expanding our product offering."

In terms of deliveries, the United States of America remains the brand's biggest market with 1,621 cars delivered in the last six months. Germany comes in next with 595 units, then the United Kingdom with 514 units, Japan with 354 units, followed by the Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong and Macao where Lamborghini sold 337 units in total. In its home country, Lambo sold 268 cars since January 2024.

Lamborghini also claims that with the Revuelto anticipating a wait of more than two years, the order bank is still strong. Orders for the Huracan extend until the end of the anticipated production run, which ends in December. Customers have responded well to the Urus SE, which was introduced at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition at the end of April. Orders have been placed for almost a year's worth of manufacture.

Lamborghini Huracan Successor

Furthermore, Lamborghini has also confirmed that while the Huracan is set to retire, its successor will be unveiled on August 16. Codenamed the Huracan 634, rumour has it that the car new car will called 'Temerario'. Lamborghini has yet to confirm any of these details but one thing we know for a fact is that the heir to the Huracan will not feature that blissful-sounding naturally aspirated V8.

Instead, there is a new V8 that would be accompanied by three electric motors and the dual-clutch eight-speed gearbox introduced in the Revuelto. The engine will produce 800PS with a rev range of 9,000 to 9,750 rpm. It was also revealed to have a flat-plane crankshaft and the potential to rev up to 10,000 rpm.

One of the electric motors is positioned between the petrol engine and the new eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, producing 150PS and 300Nm. The location of the remaining two electric motors is yet to be confirmed but we think they will be mounted up front to power the front 2 wheels.
