Lamborghini Urus S India launch on 13 Apr; What to expect?
Lamborghini is all geared up for the launch of the new Urus S in India on 13 April, 2023. The Italian marquee recently launched the Urus Performante in the country, with prices starting at Rs 4.22 crore (ex-showroom). With this, the Urus line-up will comprise two versions - the sportier Urus Peformante and Urus S.
Lamborghini Urus S: What is it?
The new Urus S bears a laid-back approach rather than the sportier characteristic of the track-focused Urus Performante. It also emphasises comfort and luxury but not at the cost of performance. In fact, the power output of the Urus S matches Urus Performante's figures.
Lamborghini Urus S: Equipment
The most significant difference between the S and Performante is the suspension setup. While the Urus Performante boasts a stiffer and lowered coil spring setup, the Urus S gets the same air suspension system as the old Urus.
With the air suspension setup, the Urus S features three off-road modes: Sabbia, Neve, and Terra. Along with the off-road modes, it also offers three driving modes: Strada, Sport, and Corsa. These modes can adjust response from the steering, engine, suspension, rear differential, gearbox, and even the anti-roll bar system.
In some international markets, the Urus S can be ordered with different wheel sizes and designs, ranging from 21- to 23-inches. In addition, Lamborghini offers an ocean of options for its customers to personalise their Urus S and Urus Performante.
Lamborghini Urus S: Engine
The Urus S gets the twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It generates 666PS and 850 Nm of torque - the same as the Urus Performante. Notably, the tweaked V8 makes 16PS more than its predecessor.
As a result, the Urus S can sprint from zero to 100kmph in just 3.5 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds slower than the lighter Urus Performante. Whereas, the zero to 200kmph takes 12.5 seconds. Here the Urus S takes an additional second to reach the mark over the quicker Performante. The Urus S tops out at 305kmph.
Furthermore, Lamborghini has equipped the Urus S with an all-wheel drive system, which can send power to all four wheels. It also features an active centre and rear differentials.
Lamborghini Urus S: Engine
We expect Urus S to be cheaper by Rs 30-50 lakh over the While the Urus Performante, which costs Rs 4.22 crore, ex-showroom.
