Lamborghini Urus Performante makes global debut with cosmetic and mechanical upgrades

Lamborghini has pulled the covers off the new Lamborghini Urus Performante, essentially a mid-life refresh for the Urus super-SUV. The Urus Performante broke the production SUV record at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb just a few days before it was launched.

The 2022 Lamborghini Urus Performante has an updated front bumper, blacked-out air dam, carbon-fibre front splitter, and vented carbon-fibre hood as visual updates. Even more customization options for the latter include a painted panel or visible carbon fibre.

The SUV receives a redesigned spoiler for greater downforce toward the back, which the manufacturer claims is improved by 38% and increases the vehicle's total downforce by 8 percent. A carbon-fibre rear diffuser, carbon-fibre wheel arches, new air curtains, and a carbon-fibre rear bumper are also available.

While the Urus Performante continues to be powered by the same 4.4-litre twin-turbo, power figures are up by 16PS, bringing it up to a total of 666PS. The torque output of 850Nm and the seven-speed automatic transmission remains unchanged.

The Urus Performante has lost 47kg in weight. In addition to having more power, the super-SUV has a peak speed of 306kph and can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.3 seconds. Additionally, it may choose to have performance tires made specifically for SUVs, the Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R.

The seats in the Urus Performante now have a new hexagonal pattern and come standard with Black Alcantara; leather is still an option. Additionally, Lamborghini offers a Dark Package that gives numerous interior details a Matte Black finish. Additionally, Performante badging is added to the super-seats, SUV's doors, and roof lining.

The next Lamborghini super-SUV will go up against vehicles like the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT, Audi RSQ8, and Aston Martin DBX 707. It will also compete with the Ferrari Purosangue SUV, which is expected to make its debut the following month.
