Lexus ES facelift launched in India at Rs 56.65 lakh
Lexus India has launched the facelifted ES sedan and prices start at Rs 56.65 lakh (ex-showroom), The ES receives minor external changes as well as a few additional interior amenities.
While the ES's general shape stays intact, it's the small changes that keep the design new and ageless. The spindle-shaped front grille has been somewhat altered with a mesh design, and the light clusters are edgier than the current-gen model's. The alloy wheels have a new design as well.
Powering the Lexus ES is the same 2.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that is paired with a 16kWh battery pack. Combined they generate 218PS and 221Nm of torque. The ES300 is a front-wheel-drive vehicle with a standard CVT transmission.
The Lexus ES is available in two trim levels: Exquisite and Luxury. Sonic Iridium and Sonic Chrome are the two new exterior colours to select from.
The cabin also gets a new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with the rest of the list remaining mostly intact. The sedan comes with a sunroof, three-zone temperature control, a 17-speaker Mark Levinson sound system, head-up display, motorised front seats with memory, hands-free trunk lid opening, and more, depending on the version.
The Lexus ES could compete against its cousin, the Toyota Camry which is available in India, but with its steep price tag, it is most likely to take on the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi A6 and the BMW 5 Series.
