Lit C-1 to go on sale in 2014

This is the C-1 or as the manufacturer Lit motors likes to call it â" the rolling smartphone. It uses two 40kW electric motors within the wheels to propel itself to almost 200kmph with a range of 320km. The vehicle uses two electronically controlled gyroscopes to keep itself upright even in the event of a collision. It can seat two in comfort and is said to be as safe as a car, with seatbelts and airbags for both passengers.

The C-1 uses several layers of electronic communications to deliver information about traffic, weather and the like. Hence the name rolling smartphone. Small scale production will start in 2014 at a price of Rs 13.4 lakh (UK) which should drop to Rs 8.9 lakh once large scale production begins.
