Mahindra Thar Roxx 4x4 gets Mocha Brown interiors option
Mahindra has revealed that the recently released Thar Roxx will now come with a new Mocha Brown interior option. This interior will strictly be available on 4X4 models, which start at the MX5 trim level. Notably, Mahindra is not going to charge extra for the dark interior as it will be a no-cost option.
It appears that Mahindra has listened to feedback from customers and the media regarding the Ivory colour interior. Being of an off-white shade its interior was very easy to get dirty and for an SUV that is made to go off-road, it kind of beats the point. Hence Mahindra has offered this new dark shade only for the 4x4 variants. The 4x2 variants will all still continue to feature the Ivory interior.
Official online reservations for the Thar Roxx will open for business on October 3, 2024, at 11 am and the token amount is fixed at Rs 21,000. Mahindra has stated that deliveries will begin in the middle of October. Buyers who opt for the Mocha Brown will have to wait till January 2025 to take deliveries of their car.
The diesel engine is the only powertrain of four-wheel drive Thar Roxx. It is propelled by a 2.2-litre diesel engine that produces 175PS and 380Nm with an automatic transmission and 152PS and 330Nm with a manual gearbox. It is available with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual transmission. Customers interested in a 4x4 Thar with a petrol engine will have to settle for the 3-door version.
The 4x4 variants also get a 'Smart Crawl' which is an off-road cruise control system that can be switched on between 2.5 and 30kph. It also gets 'Intelliturn' which can be activated under 15kph to make tight turns by locking the rear inner wheel based on the directions of the wheel. Prices for the Mahindra Thar Roxx 4x4 start from Rs 18.79 lakh (ex-showroom).
