Mahindra Thar Roxx: Powertrains and Electronics

As mentioned the Thar Roxx will be available with both petrol and diesel options but the petrol car is strictly available as an RWD. The diesel on the other hand will be offered with RWD and 4x4 drivetrains. The mStallion turbo-petrol engine produces 162PS and 330Nm with the 6-speed manual and 177PS and 380Nm if you opt for the 6-speed torque converter automatic.

Coming to the diesel engine, the RWD drive car produces 152PS and 330Nm regardless if you choose the MT or AT. The figures increase to 175PS and 370Nm of torque in the 4x4 variants. The Thar Roxx also has a water-wading capacity of 650mm, an approach angle of 41.7 degrees and a departure angle of 36.1 degrees.

The 4x4 variants also get a 'Smart Crawl' which is an off-road cruise control system that can be switched on between 2.5 and 30kph. It also gets 'Intelliturn' which can be activated under 15kph to make really tight turns by locking the rear inner wheel based on the directions of the wheel.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Design

The front has been redesigned, with the new 6-slat body-coloured grille occupying the majority of the available space. The new circular LED headlights with C-shaped LED DRLs are placed on each side of that, although the fenders still house the LED indicators. In addition, the bumper has been modified to include circular LED fog lamps and contrasting silver accents.

The higher-end Roxx models come with bold wheel arches and 19-inch alloy wheels with diamond cuts, while the mid-range models most likely have 18-inch alloys. Like the Thar EV concept, the quarter glass aft of the rear door is shaped like a triangle. The primary alteration at the back is a set of updated square-shaped LED tail lights, which are completed by a spare wheel installed on the tailgate.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Colours

Seven exterior colours- Stealth Black, Tango Red, Everest White, Deep Forest, Nebula Blue, Battleship Grey, and Burnt Sienna are available for the Mahindra Thar Roxx. Notably, a black quarter panel is included regardless of the colour you choose.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Interior and Features

The Thar Roxx's interior has a dashboard similar to the 3-door's but with more premium materials. Mahindra has switched to a dual-tone black and beige scheme in place of the original all-black motif. On top versions, there are furthermore two 10.25-inch displays for infotainment and instrumentation purposes.

In addition to a central headrest, AC vents, and a Type-C charging outlet, the back has a bench that can fit three people. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a single-zone automatic climate control system, a Harman Kardon sound system, keyless entry with push button start, a panoramic sunroof (single-pane in lower variants), and ventilated front seats are just a few of the many new features.

In addition to the conventional six airbags, the complete safety package includes level-2 ADAS, electronic stability control, front and rear parking sensors with a 360-degree video, an automated parking brake with auto hold, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and ABS with EBD.
