About a week ago, Mahindra confirmed that the upcoming Thr 5-door will be called the Thar Roxx and the homegrown brand has now once again teased the vehicle. The Thar Roxx will be launched this coming Independence Day, August 15 and we expect deliveries of the upcoming off-roader to begin soon as well.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Design

The new teaser of the Thar Roxx, as mentioned earlier, shows off its exterior, which looks identical to the spy pictures that surfaced on the internet a couple of weeks ago. It bears a strong resemblance to the on-sale Thar, but also bears some additional design elements. The key highlights are a redesigned front end with a new grille, LED projector headlights integrated with DRls, LED fog lamps, and a dual-tone front bumper similar to the Thar. Also, there are new alloy wheels and front parking sensors.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Engine & Transmission

The Thar Roxx is likely to come powered by the same engine options as the Thar, which gets a 2.0-litre, inline four-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine generating 152PS and 300Nm of torque (320Nm with AT) and a 2.2-litre inline four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel unit that delivers 132PS and 300Nm of torque. There is also a possibility of Mahindra offering it with more powerful petrol and diesel engines from the Scorpio-N, which makes 175PS/370Nm of torque (400Nm with AT) in petrol version and 200PS/370Nm (380Nm with AT) in diesel guise.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Interior

Although the teaser did still not reveal the interior, the Thar Roxx is likely to feature a revamped cabin. It could boast a new steering wheel, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument panel, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system (similar to the XUV400 and XUV700), electronic 4WD mode selector, chunky gear stick, USB Type-C and Type-A sockets, electronic parking brake with auto hold, telematics, second-row air-con vents, and ISOFIX child seat anchors, among others.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Features

Mahindra will bestow the Thar Roxx with a host of features, such as telematics, Adrenox-connected car functions, 360-degree camera, dual-zone temperature control, single-pane or panoramic sunroof, six or more airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, traction control, hill descent control, TPMS, off-road-oriented advanced suspension setup, drive modes, and possibly ADAS.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Pricing

The upcoming Thar Roxx may range from Rs 13-16 lakh to Rs 19-22 lakh. In contrast, the Thar (3-door) costs Rs 11.35-17.60 lakh (ex-showroom).
