Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6e previewed ahead of official debut
Ahead of their worldwide premiere on November 26, Mahindra revealed another teaser for the production-ready XEV 9e and BE 6e. The homegrown brand has invested a lot of money in these all-new EVs and expects to bring about a big change in the electric vehicles segment in the country.
The BE 6e and XEV 9e share a lot of similarities with their concept models. Notably, the brand's INGLO platformâ"a ground-up EV architectureâ"will support both models. The illuminated BE and Mahindra Infinity emblems on the BE 6e and XEV 9e, respectively, are among the new elements shown by the most recent teaser photos.
Both SUVs use state-of-the-art LED light strips and combine strong SUV features with a futuristic design aesthetic, suggesting both their potent performance and Mahindra's goal to dominate the global EV market.
Both RWD and AWD configurations of the BE 6e are expected to be on offer. There will also be two battery packs with the smaller pack rumoured to be around 60kWh while the larger one will be around 80kWh. Both batteries will support fast charging and the bigger one is set to have a range of nearly 500 kilometres.
The XEV 9e will be 4740 mm long, 1,900mm wide 1,760 mm tall and have a wheelbase of 2,775 mm. The XUV.e9 will essentially be an SUV-coupe variant of the XUV.e8 (which would now be the XEV 8e) which in turn is an electrified XUV700. So on the inside, it will get the twin 10.25-inch driver display and infotainment screen but the electric model will get an additional 10.25-inch screen for the passenger. Even the centre console will be slightly redesigned.
