Mahindra XUV700 all-wheel drive variant will now be available with the optional Luxury pack

Mahindra and Mahindra have just announced the introduction of two new variants of the all-new Mahindra XUV700. There will now be two AX7 Luxury variants with a diesel powertrain, strictly made available only in a 7-seater configuration.

The first one is the AX7 Luxury with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Under the bonnet hides the 2.2-litre mHawk turbo-diesel which produces 185PS and makes 420 Nm of torque. The next one is the AX7 Luxury with a 6-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, and while it packs the same diesel engine, it makes 450 Nm of torque.

The Luxury pack is an optional extra on top of the Mahindra XUV700 AX7 trim. The Luxury pack includes features like immersive 3D sound by Sony, electrically deployed smart door handles, 360-degree surround view, blind view monitoring, electronic parking brake, driver knee airbag, passive keyless entry, continuous digital video recording and wireless charging.

Prior to this, the Luxury pack was only offered with the automatic transmission, but now you can also get it with the manual gearbox of the diesel engine. You couldn't even have the luxury pack if you chose an all-wheel-drive variant. The variations were created in response to consumer input, as many customers desired the Luxury Pack's amenities combined with an all-wheel-drive drivetrain.

Prices for the new variants of the Mahindra XUV700 AX7 Luxury Diesel MT start at Rs.19.99 lakhs ex-showroom and AX7 Luxury Diesel AT plus AWD start at Rs. 22.89 lakhs (ex-showroom). The other trims available are the MX, AX3 and AX5, which all sit below the AX7 in the XUV700 lineup.

The Petrol versions will be delivered first, followed by the Diesel variants. By October 10, an official statement regarding the commencement of delivery will be issued.
