Mahindra XUV700 hits 2 lakh production mark in just 33 months
Over two lakh Mahindra XUV700s have been produced in India, marking a new milestone in the vehicle's history. The homegrown brand has achieved this milestone in just 33 months since the SUV went on sale. To commemorate this occasion, Mahindra has launched 2 new colours for the XUV700 - Deep Forest and Burnt Sienna.
The XUV700 took 21 months to reach the 1 lakh manufacturing milestone, however, Mahindra produced the next 1 lakh SUVs and reached the 2 lakh production milestone in just another 12 months. Seven different variants of the XUV700 are available: MX, AX3, AX5, AX5 Select, AX7, AX7 Luxury, and AX7 Luxury Blaze Edition.
Powering the XUV700 is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel motor with two different configurations. The petrol unit produces 200PS and 380Nm of torque. The diesel engine in the lower variants makes 155PS/360Nm, while one available with higher-spec variants delivers 185PS. The torque output is rated at 420Nm (with MT) and 450Nm (with AT). Both engines can be paired with a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. Mahindra also offers an optional all-wheel drive system.
The Mahindra XUV700, which can be had as a 5 or 7-seater SUV, rivals the Tata Harrier, Safari, MG Hector, Hector Plus, Hyundai Alcazar and Jeep Compass. Prices for the Mahindra XUV700 start from Rs 13.99 lakh to Rs 26.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
