Maruti Suzuki Alto hits 45 lakh sales milestone
Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced that the Alto has reached an important milestone of 45 lakh consumers in India. The extremely affordable hatchback has been in the Indian market for nearly 20 years, making it one of the country's longest-running nameplates. Alto has developed throughout time to meet the needs of its clients. In the Indian market, Maruti Suzuki is presently marketing the Alto K10.
The first Alto, which debuted in 2000, was an instant success, and by 2004, it had become India's best-selling vehicle. Today, the All-New Alto K10 remains a popular choice because of its more powerful Next-Gen K-Series 1.0L Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine.
Maruti Suzuki reached its first 10-lakh sales milestone in 2008, a 20-lakh milestone in 2012, a 30-lakh milestone in 2016, and a 40-lakh milestone in 2020.
The Alto genuinely democratized the entry hatchback sector with equipment like electronic power steering, front power windows, Auto Gear Shift (AGS) option, Dual Airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and more with each update.

The brand now sells the Alto K10 expects to reach the 50-lakh sales mark by 2025, with the next 10 lakh sold by 2028. The Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 starts from Rs 4 lakh.
