Maruti Suzuki Fronx hits 1 lakh sales milestone in just 10 months
Maruti Suzuki has announced that the Fronx has achieved a one lakh unit sales milestone in India. This feat was reached barely ten months after its inception in April 2023. Maruti Suzuki states that the automatic models of the Fronx contributed to 24 percent of sales, while the 1.0-litre turbo Boosterjet engine is particularly popular.
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx, which is based on the Baleno, is available in five variants: Sigma, Delta, Delta Plus, Zeta and Alpha. The Fronx is also exported to Latin America, the Middle East, and South-East Asian markets and over 9,000 units have already been seen through.
Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, "Fronx was strategically added to our portfolio to address the growing demand for another Compact SUV that blends distinctive design with a captivating driving experience. Achieving 1 lakh sales in just 10 months demonstrates the exceptional connection FRONX has found with our customers. The Fronx has been instrumental in more than doubling Maruti Suzuki's SUV segment share to 19.7 percent in CY2023 from 10.4 percent in 2022."
Maruti brought back the 100PS/148Nm 1-litre Boosterjet engine (now with mild-hybrid tech) from the previous Baleno RS with the Fronx. The 90PS/113Nm 1.2-litre Dualjet naturally aspirated petrol engine is also available. The standard transmission is a five-speed manual, with automatic choices including a five-speed AMT with the NA petrol and a six-speed torque converter with the turbo-petrol.
The inside of the Fronx is quite similar to that of the Baleno hatchback, with the major attraction being a big free-standing 9-inch touchscreen. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automated climate control, a wireless phone charger, a colourful multi-info display, cruise control, and keyless entry with push button start are among the amenities available on the Fronx. It also has up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, and parking sensors.
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is priced from Rs 7.46 lakh to Rs 13.13 lakh.
