Maruti Suzuki Fronx Powertrains:
Maruti has brought back the 100PS/148Nm 1-litre Boosterjet engine (now with mild-hybrid tech) from the previous Baleno RS with the Fronx. The 90PS/113Nm 1.2-litre Dualjet naturally aspirated petrol engine will also be available with the Fronx. The standard transmission is a five-speed manual, with automatic choices including a five-speed AMT with the NA petrol and a six-speed torque converter with the turbo-petrol. You can read more about the engines here.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx Design and Dimensions:
The front end of the Fronx has a Grand Vitara-inspired big front grille and split LED headlamp arrangement. Its massive wheel arches and sloping roofline give it a crossover-like appearance when viewed from the side. Maruti has opted for the linked taillight which is situated in the upright backside, like the Grand Vitara, at the rear of the SUV. The overall posture resembles a crossover more so than a traditional SUV.
The Fronx is 3,995mm long, 1,550mm high, and 1,765mm broad, which is similar to the Baleno.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx Interior:
The inside of the Fronx is quite similar to that of the Baleno hatchback, with the major attraction being a big free-standing 9-inch touchscreen. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automated climate control, a wireless phone charger, a colourful multi-info display, cruise control, and keyless entry with push button start are among the amenities available on the Fronx. It also has up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, and parking sensors.
The new crossover takes on the likes of the other sub-4 metre SUVs such as the Renault Kiger, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and even its direct sibling the Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
