Maruti Suzuki Kharkhoda facility commences operations
Maruti Suzuki India Limited ('Maruti Suzuki') commences commercial production at its Kharkhoda facility in Haryana. The foundation stone for this facility was laid by the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in August 2022, virtually.
The Kharkhoda facility will have an annual production capacity of 250,000 units and produce the compact SUV Brezza. With this, Maruti Suzuki, including Suzuki Motor Gujarat Private Limited will have a total annual production capability of 2.6 million units.
The company recently unveiled the much awaited e-Vitara at the Auto Expo 2025 which gets two battery pack options of 49 kWh and 61 kWh along with an efficient 3-1 compact unit of Inverter, Motor and Transmission called eAxle by Maruti Suzuki. It gets three drive modes - Normal, Eco and Sport. The range stands at 500+ kms.
Currently, the company's passenger portfolio includes products like the Wagon-R, Dzire, Swift, Alto K10, S-Presso, Ertiga, Celerio, and Brezza to name a few. And the Nexa offerings include - Ignis, Baleno, Ciaz, XL6, Grand Vitara, Jimny, Invicto and Fronx to name a few.
The Kharkhoda facility will be producing the sub-compact SUV Brezza which is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol+CNG engine that comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. The engine pushes a good 100.6 PS of power and 137 Nm of peak torque. The feature list includes an electric sunroof, a heads-up display, a 360-degree camera, and wireless charging dock to name a few. The safety kit consists of six-airbags, ESP, ABS with EBD, and hill assist to name a few.
