The XDi is basically a minor spin-off of the LXi and LDi variants of the Swift. It gets a few cosmetic and feature upgrades over the base variants. On the outside, wheel caps, front fog lamps, OVRMs with integrated indicators and central locking with keyless entry make up the add-ons. Front power windows, door sill guards with illuminated logo, rear parking sensors, upgraded music system, leather upholstery and tilt adjust for the steering wheel are additions of the inside.

Engines are unchanged. The XDi petrol is powered by the 1.2-litre K-series unit that makes 87PS and 114Nm of torque while the oil-burner is the 1.3-litre Fiat Multijet that is good for 76PS and 190Nm of torque. The transmission is a 5-speed manual.

This accessory pack of the XDi makes the car dearer by about Rs.40,000 and a lot of these additions are the ones that the mid-level variants get. Also on offer is a Rs.20,000 exchange bonus or Rs.15,000 loyalty bonus. This is the second such limited edition of the hatch in recent memory, the last one being the Swift RS edition launched in July. There is no official announcement from Maruti though and this appears to be just a marketing initiative from the dealer's end.
