Maruti Suzuki S-Presso mini SUV launched in India at Rs 3.69 lakh

The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso made its debut today and the prices start at Rs 3.69 lakh ex-showroom, becoming the smallest crossover to roll out of the MSIL stables. Named after tiny shot of Italian coffee, the S-Presso is a tiny, entry-level crossover that rivals the likes of the Renault Kwid and the Datsun Redi-Go. Sitting on a wheelbase of 2,380mm and measuring (LxWxH) 3,665 x 1,520 x 1,564mm, the S-Presso is larger in all dimensions than the Alto K10 and marginally smaller than the Renault Kwid. The S-Presso ranges between Rs lakh.

The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso draws inspiration from the Future-S Concept shown at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo and has a strong visual connect with the form, design and detailing of the Vitara Brezza. The cabin features a large circular bezel on the centre a la Mini Copper, and at the centre of it resides the SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment which is available in the top trims.

Speaking of trims, the S-Presso is available in four trim levels - Std, LXi, VXi, VXi (AMT), VXi +, VXi (AMT). Headlong features for the S-Presso include the aforementioned infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, keyless entry and go, front power windows, steering mounted audio controls, and a multi-info display in the instrumentation.

The safety kit includes front dual airbags, and ABS with EBD, and Maruti Suzuki claims that the chassis is compliant with the frontal and side collision safety norms set by the govt. of India.

Power for this mini-crossover comes from a BS-VI complaint K-series 1.0l petrol engine, which can be specified with a 5-speed manual or automated manual transmission (AMT/AGS). The engine puts out 68PS of power and 90Nm of torque. A CNG option is expected to be added to the S-Presso's line up. The S-Presso is on sale from today throughout all Maruti Suzuki Arena dealership outfits with deliveries expected to start by mid-October.
