Mercedes-Benz C 300 launched at Rs 69 lakh; C-Class and GLC lineup also updated for 2024

Mercedes-Benz India has launched the C 300 AMG Line in India at Rs 69 lakh (ex-showroom) and the new car will sit above the C 200 and C 220d in the sedan variant portfolio. Speaking of them, the C-Class and GLC models have also been updated for the 2024 model year with a few addition features.

2024 Mercedes-Benz C-Class & GLC: Powertrains

The new C 300 will be available in an AMG Line variant and will replace the C 300d. That would make the C220d the only diesel C-Class in Mercedes Benz Indias' portfolio. The C 300 will be powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine generating 250PS and 400Nm of torque and Merc claims the car can do 0 to 100kmph in 6 seconds dead. Mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission, the car has a top speed of 250kmph.

The C 200 continues to get a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol putting out 204PS and 300Nm while the Mercedes-Benz C 220d has a 2.0-litre diesel with 200PS and 440Nm. All the sedans come with a 48V mild-hybrid integrated starter generator for better efficiency.

The India-spec GLC 300 gets the same 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol that is available in the C300. This unit returns a claimed fuel economy of 14.72kmpl. Whereas, the GLC 220d comes powered by a 2.0-litre, inline four-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine that produces 197PS and 440Nm of torque. This motor gives out a claimed mileage of 19.47kmpl.

The Mercedes C 300 will come in 2 new exciting colours Sodalite Blue and MANUFAKTUR Patagonia Red and will also feature an AMG Line exterior that will include a more sportier front and rear bumper and a few AMG styling bits around the car. On the inside the car gets a Night Package, a 3D Burmeister sound system, digital lights, keyless entry, fast-charging USB ports, augmented reality navigation and blind spot assist.

The C 200 and C 220d also get significant updates, and now feature heated and cooled front seats, a 360-degree camera, 6 fast-charging USB-C ports, a digital key and adaptive high beam assist. Mercedes has also replaced the Cavansite Blue with the Sodalite Blue in colour options.

The new 2024 GLC also now gets front-ventilated and heated seats and in terms of safety, side airbags for rear passengers also have been integrated taking the total airbag count to 9.
