Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV 5-seater variant to be launched in India on January 9
Mercedes-Benz India is all set to launch for the new year as on January 9 they will not just be launching the G580 but will also be launching the EQS 450 SUV which will be a 5-seater variant of the electric SUV.
Currently, the brand offers the EQS 580 SUV 4Matic SUV and the Maybach EQS SUV 680 in India. The new 450 variant will be an entry-level model and will be offered only as a 5-seater.
The same 122kWh battery pack that powers its seven-seater brother will power the new EQS 450 SUV. With a twin-motor configuration, this electric SUV can produce 544PS and 858Nm of peak torque. A 200kW DC fast charger can charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent in 31 minutes.
With LED headlights joined by a light bar and a blanked-off grille that extends into the lower front bumper, Mercedes-Benz's entry-level EQS 450 SUV will have a recognizable appearance. The 21-inch alloy wheels have been redesigned, although the aerodynamic profile is comparable to that of the EQS 580.
Inside, it comes with special features like Energizing Air Control Plus and chairs with handmade coverings as standard. The 56-inch Hyperscreen configuration, which includes a 17.7-inch touchscreen infotainment and a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and front passenger screen, is probably going to be borrowed. Its features, which include a 5-speaker Burmester audio system, 360-degree camera, 5-zone automated temperature control, dual 11.6-inch back entertainment displays, and more, are probably going to stay the same as those of the EQS 580. Level 2 ADAS, nine airbags, and other safety measures will be included.
Currently, the EQS 580 SUV is priced at Rs 1.41 crore (ex-showroom) so expect the price of the new entry-level model to be a bit more affordable.
