Mercedes-Benz GLS: Exterior
The design improvements to the new GLS are rather evolutionary, as with any facelifted model. The GLS's exterior gets a more muscular look, most notably at the front with a large grille with four horizontal slats. The headlights also have a new LED pattern, and the front bumper is slightly reprofiled with new air inlet designs and gloss black surrounds.
The SUV's 21-inch alloy wheels have been renewed, and the rear bumper and tail light insignia have been altered, leading to a more dynamic and current design. The GLS facelift comes with a choice of five colours: Obsidian Black, High-tech Silver, Sodalite Blue, Selenite Grey, and Polar White.
Mercedes-Benz GLS: Powertrains
The GLS, like its predecessor, will be offered in two trim levels: GLS 450 (petrol) and GLS 400d (diesel). Both models are powered by a three-liter six-cylinder engine with mild-hybrid technology. Both models will have all-wheel drive and a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The petrol unit produces 381PS and 500Nm of torque while the diesel powertrain produces 367PS and 700Nm of torque.
Mercedes-Benz GLS: Interior and Features
The new steering wheel, redesigned trimmings, and upholstery breathe new life into the cabin. It is available in three colours: black, beige, and brown. Mercedes has given it an upgraded MBUX system, bringing in a fresh user interface with three distinct graphics: Classic, Sporty, and Discreet. It also has three modes: Assistance, Navigation. and Service.
The 2024 GLS includes luxuries like four-zone temperature control, connected car technology, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a panoramic sunroof, a premium Burmester 3D surround sound system, a power-operated tailgate, and power front seats with ventilation and heating and entertainment screens for the middle-row passengers. Multiple airbags, electronic stability control, a tire pressure monitoring system, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are all potential safety features.
