JSW MG Motor India has confirmed the Cyberster Roadster EV will be launched in January 2025 at the Bharat Mobility Expo. The two-seater sportscar was first showcased in India at the beginning of 2024 and will now be the very first car to be sold under the new MG Select retail outlet. MG has also confirmed that the car will be priced between Rs 65 to Rs 70 lakh (ex-showroom).

For its more premium products, JSW MG Motor India unveiled MG Select, a brand-new retail channel, a few months ago. The Cyberster will be the first item sold through this chain of dealerships.

The Cyberster made its premiere at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The Cyberster convertible is offered in the UK with a 77kWh battery pack and a single or twin motor layout. The dual-motor trim generates 503PS and 725Nm, while the single-motor variant generates 340PS and 475Nm.

MG claims the dual motor model can do a 0 to 100 kph sprint in just 3.2 seconds and top out at 200 kph. The single motor car obviously benefits from a greater driving range of 508 km (WLTP cycle) while the AWD car can only do 444 km on a single charge. The brand has to still comment on which configuration will they be bringing to India.

The Cyberster EV will come to India via the CBU route and is expected to be followed by the Mifa 9 MPV later. Both cars will be sold exclusively via the MG Select retail stores. The Cyberster won't face any direct competition upon arrival but keeping its price in mind, it will rival the likes of the BYD Seal and Kia EV6.
