MG Motor India teases updated 2023 Astor ahead of launch

MG Motor India has teased the updated Astor via its social media handle. The caption for the teaser states, "Get ready for the inimitable fusion of technology and luxury. The Most Advanced SUV in its class is here." This hints that the SUV might get additional features and a fresh upholstery. Currently, the prices of the Astor start at Rs 10.81 lakh (ex-showroom). This update is likely to keep the SUV up-to-the-minute as its rivals the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder,

2023 MG Astor update

Although MG has teased the Astor, it is hard to say what new updates or features MG would offer with the upcoming version. The on-sale Astor already comes with a Personal AI Assistant that offers Hinglish voice command support, 14 various level 2 autonomy features, and connected car tech with smartwatch compatibility.

Other features on the offer include a fully digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, six speakers and tweeters, Bluetooth-enabled digital key, a panoramic sunroof, powered driver seat, six airbags, ESP, brake assist, traction control, hill hold control, hill descent control, four disc brakes, electronic parking brake with auto hold, TPMS, heated ORVMs, 5 USB charging ports, auto headlamps and wipers, PM 2.5 filter, and 360deg camera, to name a few.

MG Astor Variants and Interior

The Astor is available in a choice of Style, Super, Smart, Sharp, and Savvy. Moreover, it is offered in six distinctive colours. On the inside, the Astor can be had three distinctive themes with leather upholstery for the seats and dashboard.

MG Astor Powertrain

Powering the Astor is a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 140PS and 220Nm of torque and 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit that makes 110PS and 144Nm of torque. The former comes mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, while the latter is paired with a five-speed manual or CVT automatic unit.
