MG Windsor EV coming soon
JSW MG Motor India has officially named its upcoming electric vehicle (EV), the Windsor. The crossover EV, which is essentially the Wuling Cloud EV, borrows its name from the iconic and magnificent Windsor castle in Great Britain. In fact, the brand has also teased the Windsor EV once again.
MG Windsor EV: Highlights
The upcoming Windsor EV is likely to remain identical to the Cloud EV available in global markets. The Cloud EV measures 4295mm in length, 1850mm in width, 1652mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2700mm. In terms of exterior, the silhouette and overall proportions make it a crossover MPV rather than SUV. It gets LED headlights and taillights with full-length light bars. Inside, there is a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8.8-inch full digital cluster, six-way powered driver's seat, ambient lighting, flat-folding rear seats, wireless chargering pad, 360deg camera, and more.
MG Windsor EV: Powertrain
Internationally, the Wuling Cloud EV gets a 50.6kWh battery pack with claimed range of 460km and 37.9kWh unit with a range of 360km. A front axle-mounted electric motor delivers 136PS and 200Nm of torque when paired with the larger battery pack. The EV with a DC charger can charged from 30 to 100 per cent in half an hour.
MG Windsor EV: Price & rivals
It is likely that the new MG Windsor EV to cost about Rs 18-22 lakh. Upon launch, it will not have any direct rival in the country. But the Windsor EV will rival BYD e6, Tata Nexon, and Mahindra XUV400.
